A Victor tanker of 55 Squadron (centre) refuelling a Tornado GR1 (nearest camera) and Buccaneer S2 on their way to a target during Operation Granby. Within days of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait on 2 August 1990, RAF aircraft arrived in Saudi Arabia alongside USAF aircraft.
